Accounts That May Report to Business Credit Bureaus

Business credit reporting is product-specific and can change. The safest rule is simple: verify reporting directly before assuming an account will appear on a commercial credit file.

Vendor and trade accounts

Some suppliers report business payment experiences, while others do not. Net terms alone do not prove that reporting occurs.

Business credit cards and financing

Reporting practices vary by issuer and product. Verify which commercial bureaus receive information and whether owner consumer credit reporting can also occur under particular circumstances.

Utilities and other expenses

Some third-party services may report eligible business expenses to supported bureaus. Verify eligible account types, bureau coverage, fees, and current terms before enrolling.

Create a reporting inventory

For every account, record the provider, account type, payment terms, whether reporting is verified, which bureau receives data, and the date you last verified the claim.
